Since 17 Aug 1972, Israelis have been able to freely enter Bolivia without visa requirements under an agreement established by then president Hugo Banzar.
In response to the recent unrest in the middle east, current President Evo Morales has repealed the agreement. Citizens of Israel wishing to enter Bolivia from 30 Aug 2014 will be required to apply for a visa to visit the country.
Furthermore, Israel has been reclassified as a “Group III” country, which carries with it the toughest requirements for entry into Bolivia, such as a requirement to demonstrate hostel bookings and financial solvency.
